The Library at Islamic Center of Las Cruces provides materials and services to help community residents obtain information related to Islam meeting their personal, educational and professional needs. Special emphasis is placed on supplying adults with volumes of traditional Islamic books, current reading materials and magazines geared towards Islam; on providing reference services to students (at all academic levels) and other information seekers; and on making facilities available for local individuals, organizations and agencies to do community work or training. The library serves as a learning and activities center for all residents of Las Cruces city. The library is located in the northwest side of the mosque.
The Library Committee is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, technical processing, and management of the library’s resources as well as for the best use and maintenance of the library as a place. To improve the use of library facilities and to preserve its resources, the committee seeks suggestions from the members of the community as well as from those interested in its service. Donation of resources to the library is highly appreciated and it can be a sadaqah jariyyah (continuously-rewarding charity) for the donor.
